Death and What Comes After is a short story available online. Officially. For free. It's only connection is that it's Death and a philosopher, and Small Gods/Pyramids both sort of have some shit going on with philosophers. And Death, too. Death shows up in most books.

Bear in mind that Mort isn't the best Death book. But the rest are pretty fun.

I didn't mind Mort, but yeah, the other three, especially Reaper Man, are better. Plus Soul Music gives what, to my mind, is one of the more iconic Discworld scenes:

(It's purely subjective, though, since I remember seeing it on a bookstore shelf when I was a wee little kid and finding it awesome, but not enough so to ask my parents to get the book for me. Funny enough, the slightly cartoonish style of Kidby's art was the turnoff, as far as the art went, so I've apparently never been entirely fond of his style, even before I knew who he was).

I still like Mort because it was the first I read, and a recommendation from my father. But I think I might like Reaper Man more. Of the Death series, I prefer the ones about Death to the ones about Susan.

I waited for years for someone to make that Somebody Loves You version. It's not even a parody, that is what the "magic words" Christians really believe.

I shouldn't have read them. Reading anything about Christian stupidity makes me really hot under the collar, and that's not a good thing when combined with the fact that I came this close to getting over three hundred dollars that could've been spent buying Fortress Maximus. Rage and mass disappointment... my staples.
